So we've heard alot about USMA 2016 having the lowest number of LOA's in a long time. About how many do you think were sent out?

If title 10 of US code requires 150 appts from the NWL, and about 25% of the 1700 on the nwl will get appts, how many spots do you think are already taken up by the LOA holders?

How many LOAS for USMA c/o 2016 went out?

Can any MALO's or FFR at least estimate for me?

Thx,

Hfy600

I'm not going to lie that's about the most ambitious question I've seen on these threads so far. An answer would be incredibly awesome, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Oh, ok then. I just wanted a number.

I'll answer what I can - we were told under 300 LOA's went out this year. Target was 200 for starters but ended up going higher. That said, there's no way to tell how many of those will come off the NWL. If an LOA winner wins a slate (or receives a principal nom) it will be charged to that MOC. If they have a presidential nom, it could be charged there. Same with ROTC. Some have 2-3 noms and who they're charged to won't actually be finalized until R day. So I don't think anyone could answer that question until it actually happens and I doubt you'll ever see the statistics.

I agree with marciemi - we will never know the answer to that until it is all over. Some MOCs (or the Admissions Office) give the primany nomination to the LOA person and others do not thinking WP will find the LOA person another slot. Some LOA winners who are not the primary MOC nominees get NWL slots.
My son had an LOA and a Presidential nomination. His offer was charged against one of the 100 Presidential slots but other Presidential nominated people were charged against one of the 100 minimum NWL slots. In short, the process has so many variables and "moving parts" that it does no good to try to figure out exactly what is happening.
Unfortunately, if you are not a MOC vacancy winner or top 100 Presidential nominee (or other category winner like Army, NG etc) all you can do is wait while Admissions matches the best people against the limited slots. By mid to late March the vast majority of people will know their status.
