Hello all and first time post!
My son has completed his application to attend the prep school and it is now the middle of February and we are wondering is the prep school notifications are the same as the academy notifications as in "mass mailing march" or is there a different process for the prep school?

Thanks in advance,

Thanks in advance,

You typically apply to the Academy and Admissions decides who goes to Prep School. Last year Prep School and Falcon foundation scholarships came out in early April after the USAFA Appointments. This year is different though. You might want to ask this question directly to Admissions at http://www.facebook.com/#!/AcademyAdmissions .

Recruited athletes have a different protocol. If you are an IC, you should talk to your coach and he/she can tell you where you’re at.

Could ROTC cadets who do well in the program, but dont have a hot GPA get into prep school? (Ill probably have 2 years of undergraduate college work done by the time next school year applies. ) If I go to prep school, it'll be an additional year of "preparing" and then hit USAFA the next class year. It'll be 3 years of college lost, but I honestly feel it's worth it. I will be 21 by the time i get into the USAFA, if I go the prep school route, so i'm in the safe zone in regards to age.

You apply to the Academy first. As they do their selections (and non-selections) they (the Academy) decide who they want at the Prep School and who they want to sponsor (Falcon Foundation) at other prep schools. The point is you apply directly for admission to the Academy first. Talk with your local ALO and discuss your options. Good luck. :thumb:
