Hi, i came to the USA 5 years ago. And just got my citizenship.
Currently, i applied to usna and finished all my parts. Just waiting for the appointment. But i havent heard anything back from them. Nothing at all!!!

Here is my grades and resume.
SAT: 750 math 520 reading(do you think they will consider that im an immigrant?)
Freshmen year gpa: 3.4
Sophomore year gpa: 4.1
Junior year gpa: 4.6
Senior year gpa: 4.9
so far i took AP environmental Science(got 4), AP Calculus(got 3), AP Biology(got 3). currently taking AP physics(avg A+), AP Latin(Avg A), AP stats(avg A), AP Chemistry(avg B+), AP Calculus BC(avg A).

Sports: i wrestled for two years in varsity team(captain/MVP senior year), played baseball for three years.

Extra: im a president of Environmental club(created local town clean up committee, wrote a book about birds), group leader of Science club. Honor society member, Science honor society member, Latin honor society member. Hospital volunteer for 4 years.

I also went to NASS and boy state.

I passed CFA and Medically qualified and have a nomination for my district congressman.

I really want to go to the USNA! I only applied to two schools: USNA and Rutgers. I got into Rutgers but i do not want to go there(not because they are bad. i just want to to usna).

oh by the way i am asian from NJ(i heard that NJ is one of the toughest state )

is there anything that i can do to improve my chance to get an appointment??
I have no connections nor person to talk to. My counselor doesnt know anything about service academy and My BGO cant do anything for me because that is not fair for other candidate. please help me out!! i am freaking out

Your chances are good and at this point all you can do it wait. As tough as it is there's little else that can be done. Enjoy your senior year. Stay in shape. Stalk the mailman...

yes. English is my second language

Don't worry too much about it. I know someone in a similar situation that is going to NAPS now. Her math scores were not that high but she also had a good class ranking/GPA.
Through your school grades, you virtually proved that you can handle the academics despite having limited exposure to English.

NO there is nothing you can do to improve your chance of an appointment.

do you have a nomination? Interesting that you don't mention this.
If you don't have a nomination, quit "freaking out" and start planning for your first day at Rutgers.

Secondtime - re-read Wannabe's post for a second time. He does say he has a nomination from his congressman.

Read carefully, he has a nomination from his MOC. A bit of a terse and insensitive reply IMO...

Good luck to you wannabe.

Nice Stats!

What district are you from? I'm from NJ-7 and my BGO said I should be hearing in about 1-3 Weeks. They might look at all the NJ ones during the same board? It looks like only one candidate from NJ has been appointed on these forums.

Okay, he has a nomination. Great!

There is still not much, if anything, he can do to improve his chances of an appointment.

Hmmmm. . . at this late date, could he get a letter of recommendation from, uh, the President?
Can he change his SAT scores, class rank, extra-curriculars, or anything else that might be considered?
Can he improve his CFA?
Medical; passed? Not much of an opportunity there.

In other words, NOTHING HE CAN CONTROL at this late date is worth "freakin out" over.

Good luck.
