Hi everyone,

I had a question regarding the academic portion of the WCS. Because my school does not rank, I was wondering if West Point would solely look at my SAT scores. (Or maybe ask for an estimated rank?)

This is just something I heard and I just find it hard to believe it because that would essentially mean my school grades are exempt from the whole application process. (Unless I get mediocre grades within the c range and lower, which is not the case).

The SAT/ACT scores is what admissions will use in lieu of your class rank, as those scores will provide an overall "ranking" against students from other similar schools. Your grades, however, are not exempt.

Hey armyhopeful,

I heard that if your school doesn't rank, the admissions office uses only your SAT percentile for the academic portion of the WCS. If you think it will be beneficial to send in a rank, you should ask your counselor as he can probably manually make a rank for you.
