LEAD Program Applicants Thread

It's the name of the program that brings enlisted troops from the operational air force into the admissions process for the Academy. The MOC nomination is exchanged for a squadron commander nomination, and then from there the process is the same.

Most LEAD candidates have been posting in the other LEAD thread.

Now till the first week of April... after that, expect to be wait listed. Trust me, I know from experience.

Are you currently enlisted in the AF otterpop?

The process could be different, I know there has been a push to notify airmen late so they don't slack off between appointment and their ship date.

We all should hear around the end of March/beginning April if all goes right. And your right about notifying LEAD candidates as late as possible, but that is due to the fact that last year LEAD airmen got acceptances as early as January, so they were just avoiding the early notifications. And I emailed one of the LEAD program Lts and she said that we should all hear around end of March/beginning April, so as of now that time frame is pretty solid.

I heard that a small number of Airmen were offered appointments this year in January as well, so I don't know if I put much credence in the "worried about them slacking off" explanation. I don't know if they were direct appointments or Prep appointments, however.
