sorry i dont have an answer but...
i got a letter from the Academy about them getting my application for the VP nominations (freaked out too because it was a TWE and i thought it was a rejection!)
did you get one too?
maybe it's just wishful thinking but, if you did get one, don't you think this is a good sign? i mean, if they already reviewed your application and were gonna send you a rejection, do you think they'll still send you the letter about the VP nomination?

If I read your post correctly I think you're reading way too much into it (not that I know a damned thing about it). As I see it, it was a simple acknowledgement that they received your application... if I'm reading your post right. Don't mean to rain on the parade though. I do hope you hear good news soon.

I also got the TWE about the VP nom - it was not a good event - seeing that envelope in the mail - had a terrible sick feeling in the pit of my stomach but was wildly relieved when it was just information about the VP nom
