Just wondering, has anyone received a QNV, TWE, or Administrative Disqualification?

I think there have been a few ADs from low CFA scores. That's all I know of.

I've only seen some ADs. I have yet to see a QNV/TWE.

Yeah that makes sense, I got my QNV after the appointments had been sent out last year. I dont remember reading anything about candidates getting ADs but then again they offered more appointments

Is it first a TWE then a prep school appointment?

Generally, yes. (At least for Falcon Foundation it is). As far as I know, QNV comes first, then the FF offer follows. Sometimes it's a week or 10 days later, sometimes it's a month. Usually closer to a month (I think most of my Falcon buddies and I found out in late April, early May last year).

DS friend got a AD, it showed up on his portal yesterday. Pretty much figure it is for CFA.

I just got an AD for low CFA scores. Saw it in my portal and called my ALO to find out more. He said letters for AD probably went out this week.

The dreaded AD.....my DS also received that. I think my DS is much more mature than I, as all of the travel, tests, meetings....then AD. He said, It's ok...I will reach my goal! A few minutes later, I walk in my room, shut my door and have a good cry. :) I realized it wasn't because I was sad...but so very proud of him. That said, we are all very excited for his "now" plan A. And I know that he will reach his goal.

So sorry to hear . . .

So sorry to hear about this (temporary) disappointment for anyone who got an AD. I thought it meant "active duty" but I get it now (admin disqual). I admire your resilience and ability to move on.

Congrats to anyone who did get a call. You would think the only states with telephones are TX, CO, VA, and now ME? What, the rest of us "country folk" are still using Morse Code?

So no mail today, but plenty of heart attacks available! Checked DS's portal ASAP, but no change. So far, no news is still good news.

My favorite stories up to now are when Mom ran to her DS with the phone as he was about to compete at a track meet. I can picture her in her heels, trying to be composed, and then DS's face before and after. My other favorite is the candidate who was at the movies about to watch Hunger Games. I picture him telling this story to his grandchildren someday (he is sitting in a rocker and they are at his feet listening). Instead of asking, "What was it like at the Academy, grandpa?" they will ask, "Grandpa, what's Hunger Games? Didn't they have enough food back then?"

Hang in there everyone!

Kdc246- wondering how you could know if that the AD was because of a CFA.? Is there something that this candidate received on his portal (letter or explanation) which would give the reason for the AD? What are the reasons for AD... Is it only cuse of CFA?
What if a candidate maybe has a weak CFA but a varsity athlete? Would it also be possible for AD?

Checked DS portal and still says candidate though had to admit I was nervous. DS had a strong CFA- excellent EC/ leadership and volunteer hours- strong GPA and rank but only average ACT scores ( math is above the AFA average both other 3 sections not as strong). Wondering if a AD on portal would appear because of ACT weakness or only CFA.

I doubt it, from what I heard the candidates that received ADs were those that had low CFAs

I believe any ACT score is fine as long as it is above the minimum 22/23/24 (forgot what it was), but it might not be competitive enough for an appointment unless it is above a XX. Can't say for sure because all congressional districts are different and I've heard of people getting in with 26's or getting declined with 30's. I'm sure the whole person score plays a big role here and if your ACT or CFA is low you can make up for it in other areas that you excel at. :thumb:

The "word" from USAFA "unofficially" (as I can't post anything that might be sent out...)

Is that the AD's are almost ALL related to failing one or more portions of the CFA.

As to the question of a "weak CFA but a varsity athlete..." not really relevant: you either pass or you fail. If pass, no issues; if fail...

Crair70~I am of course conjecturing just a bit. I know the young man, he will be valedictorian of his class of 400+ students. He has several varsity letters, and EC's. His SAT's were around 2200 super scored. I also know his mom and was privy to outside information no suitable for sharing. But I also know that he struggled to finish the CFA. He took several trial runs and it always seemed that one thing or the other was just a little low. He also did not submit his final application pieces until late December.

Haha! After hearing that news I doubt I would be able to run a decent race or pay attention to a movie!
Anxiously awaiting any kind of news here in NY :)
