Hey everyone,

Go check your portal! Mine just updated to Appointment Offered, and hopefully yours did too! Best of luck to you all
 
I think I'll be a Staff Sergeant before I hear anything from the Academy
 
For my sanity's sake, I'm going to pretend that USAFA didn't have enough time or people to update portals for everyone today and that more will update tomorrow. :bang:

Reality is though, that I'm sure they did.
 
Well, this is my second year applying, and I know that they do their updates in waves, like everything else. My friend and I submitted a ROTC nomination request at the same time. Mine showed in my portal the next day, his was a week later. This is the first correspondence I have received from USAFA concerning my appointment, so perhaps it will be the first for a few others as well

I have a lot of respect for you. One, for applying to a service academy in the first place and two, for applying again after being denied the first time. I plan to reapply next year should I not receive an appointment, but I can imagine how difficult the wait is. Congrats on your appointment mate!

Dont be discouraged! Remember the little side note on your portal? Yeah it says that most appointments won't be finalized until the first week of April, so there's still time :)
 
Do all appointments from all nominating sources come out today? I got a nom through ROTC.
 
It seems the appointments mostly have been MOC at this point. According to the 2016 appointment list I have seen only a few from other sources (pres/ROTC) Also there is the national pool... Right? Does anyone know how many are typically appointed from the national pool? I would suspect those who are qualified and did not win their MOC slate would be in this pool and ranked according to their WPC score. Is this correct? In the past I have read that typically 400 come from here. Can anyone confirm this?
 
With the smaller class size of 1050, I think the national wait pool estimates are for around 250 rather than the 400 or so of years past.
