My DS is attending Intro and Frog Week back to back at North Georgia. He reports on Aug. 11th. Also, I was asked to post or give updates on North Georgia stuff since there are not many posters from there so here is a minor update: North Georgia College & State University is officially changing their name to either:

University of North Georgia
The University of North Georgia
North Georgia University
University of Northern Georgia

The decision will be made in the next couple of months. The reason is that the school just incorporated Gainesville State University into the school and from a marketing and natural standpoint the school will officialy choose a new name. I read that the reason the "College" was still in the name currently was because former alums who graduated from North Georgia College who were finanacial backers of the school demanded that it be left in and for many years it has been. The school also had a vote to choose or keep the current mascot and nickname. It stayed the same. Go North Georgia Saints!

North Georgia

Glad to see another North Georgia post. My oldest son is a junior currently and is scheduled to ship to basic May 29, 2012. We will apply to North Georgia, Citadel, and Pikeville. His heart is sold on (NG), we as parents are so pleased with the entire staff at (NG). We have had the opportunity to visit the campus 3 times and couldn't be more pleased. Would you mind posting your son's stat's. I have tried to create a gage if you would on stat's for the Citadel and (NG) cadets. I have not seen many (NG) stats. I am only trying to determine how competitive my son will be. My email is jamesconner@charter.net. Please feel free to contact me. I am excited about having another (NG) family to stay in contact with. Congrats to your DS, I am sure you are so proud of their hard work. Please let your DS know how thankfull my family is for their choice of service to our great nation,

James

I will also be attending North Georgia this fall. I applied to West Point but did not make the cut. I am undecided if I will reapply next year. North Georgia was my backup plan and I have received a 3 year ROTC Scholarship. I am excited to get my military/officer career started.

Very Cool (Spartan)

Way 2 Go! My DS is from Md. What state are you coming to North Georgia from? How was your visit to the school? DS got his schedule already and is registered for INTRO and FROG Week for the weekend of Aug. 11th.

Its Official...the new name is...

I just read that the new official school name will be the University of North Georgia beginning in 2013.

CoachBart, I will be going to North Georgia from Georgia. I love the area where the school is located and go camping several times a year. I will be attending the first June INTRO session. I cannot wait to start FROG.
