Regarding USNA Parents Weekend for the Class of 2016, will you be able to see or communicate with your Plebe prior to Friday. I see that Parents Weekend starts on a Thursday, but I can't tell if you will be able to have any interaction with your DS/DD prior to Friday? Trying to determin whether to arrive on Thursday or wait until Friday.

Do NOT attempt to communicate with your Plebe before he/she is released for liberty after noon meal formation on Friday of PPW. If you see him/her, walk the other way. Seriously. A member of the Class of 2012 (not mine, thank goodness) saw his family on Friday morning, and stopped to say hello. He and all the others of his class had been ordered to not make contact with family members. He disobeyed a direct order. As a result, he did NOT receive liberty with his classmates. He and his family were able to meet on the Yard, but that's it.
Friday morning there will be displays regarding each academic department, and there will be tours of the various academic buildings and labs. IMO, these were highly worthwhile, as they are the only glimpse you will have into the academic atmosphere at USNA until 2nd Class PW.
