There is a note on my DS's portal (dated 2 May 2012) telling Class of 2016 candidates to check their portal for additional information about R-Day. Has this information been posted to anyone's portal yet (I sense that information like this is not always posted to everyone at the same time)?

I currently have no info on my portal, but the note may be in reference to the pdf for Instructions to Applicants Offered Admissions, which does provide a lot of information on things to do before R-Day. Also, the cover letter in the admissible mailings area states, "In the coming months, we’ll send information and videos to you via your candidate portal to inform you about military training at West Point and to show you how to properly prepare for the rigorous challenges of Cadet Basic Training. We’ll also notify you of specific items needed when you report and the time you will report on 2 July, Reception Day."

As far as specific reporting times, packing lists, etc, I haven't heard anything.

R-Day information will most likely be posted under "Admissable Mailings" around the second week of June.

The information hasn't been posted yet for me but this same note about R-Day and to check our portal for additional information was posted on 1 May 2012, so you're right when you say that info like this are not always posted at the same time... or at least that's what I think.

Wow...that seems awfully late to receive the packing list (since R-Day is July 2). Especially when they tell candidates to start checking the portal for information on May 1.

I suppose it could be intentionally designed as the first step in training on the concept of "Hurry up and wait".

According to what I read on Facebook the R-Day packing list is supposed to be available on Friday.
