I selected the optional computer package, which is stated as costing $500. Do I send in that money or is automatically taken out of my cadet pay? Thanks in advance!

Deducted out of your cadet pay. Its part of the gigantic "Red" you make when you get all your issued items. You never have to cough up for that.
