Although my son is actively pursuing appointment to USMA, he is also looking at ROTC options. He will be applying for an Army ROTC scholarship. He was recently contacted by a Navy recruiter who was urging him to apply for a NROTC scholarship as well. He is not an engineering/science major. We came accross information about the Navy's Language Skills, Regional Expertise, and Cultural Awareness (LREC) Program, which seems like one of the few options for Tier III majors.
The web site said that LREC is only offered at "select" schools with NROTC programs. Does anyone know where to find a list of those schools?
Also, my son's first choice of a major is International Relations (he wants to pursue Intelligence as a branch). Most of those programs require a language proficiency and a focus on a geographic region. Would that fit in with the LREC requirements?
