Sorry for the urgency, but it's 1:30 am and i'm leaving soon at 11a.m. i'm flying to annapolis to stay with my family a few days before summer seminar begins on friday. Only problem is I never received a packing list and need to know what to bring!!

I've looked at past threads and have a general idea, but i was wondering if anyone could tell me what to bring so I don't end up forgetting something important! Thanks!

My DS is completing Session 1 today.

I beleive this is what you are looking for:

ITEMS TO BRING WITH YOU
You will be issued six Summer Seminar t-shirts, a pair of sweat pants, and a sweat shirt. You only need to bring 1 – 2 sets of civilian clothes for travel and academic workshops. Dress is informal but neat in appearance. Shorts or pants must be tasteful, please do not wear shorts or pants that are tattered, torn, or have holes. Closed toe shoes are required for daily events (i.e. sandals are not acceptable). (The temperatures may be in the 80's, 90's, or 100’s with possible showers, and high humidity. Due to the exceptionally high temperatures in Annapolis in June, shorts are encouraged). Remember, you will have physical training at 5:30am every day without the ability to do laundry.

Be sure to bring:
1. Appropriate athletic shorts (4 pairs)
2. Socks (10 - 12 pairs)
3. Undergarments (10-12 pairs)
4. Towels (2-3)
5. Twin size bed linens (1 set)
6. Pillow and pillowcase
7. Toiletries and shower flip flops
8. Running shoes (You might want to bring a second pair of older running shoes for the Team Building Exercises).
9. Swim Suit. For females, a one piece swim suit is required.
10. Travel alarm clock
11. Photo ID
12. Bring a combination or key lock for clothing lockers.*
*Do not bring excessive amounts of money or other valuables as safekeeping facilities cannot be provided and the Academy will not be held responsible for lost or stolen articles.

BTW, don't forget to wear a belt as you will be instructed to tuck your shirt-tail at check-in. You may also want to get a haircut as you are going to get real dirty at the session. Check out the pics at: http://www.usna.edu/homepage.ph

I went last year, and from the pictures on the facebook page, I think this year isn't much different. They issue you tshirts and shorts to wear EVERYWHERE -- academic workshops, DC, everything. You also get a workout top that you wear with a pair of the shorts every morning for PEP. You have to wear it everyday, and there really isn't a chance to wash it. Everyone smells pretty nasty by PEP on the last day. You also get a sweatshirt and sweatpants. No one really wore these, except for Sea Trials on the last day when you're required to wear the sweatpants.

I would recommend some of your own comfy PT clothes for pajamas, a few nicer outfits to wear for arrival/departure, and loads of socks. I packed a lot of stuff, not realizing exactly how much they were going to give us, and all of it just sat in my suitcase, untouched. I lugged it from coast to coast for no reason.

Have fun! NASS is a great experience.

It's too late for USNFilms, but for anyone else reading, most of the people I talked to only wore the clothing items they were issued. I never wore the shorts I brought. The only things I wore that I brought were the boxers, the socks, and the shoes. Deodorant is a must and bring sunscreen. Most of all bring a great attitude, though. That will make everything so much better.

Learn to use the sink- you will smell slighter better than your peers. Unless you teach your peers to do the same. Soap+ water + PT shirt is clean than sweaty PT shirt never washed. They are mesh and dry easier anyways

Note from my new Ensign: If you can't take the smell of NASS, don't bother to go to USNA. The smell of Plebe summer is far, far worse. At NASS, you're clean enough to still know that you stink.....

They all smell bad at end of Plebe Summer. But they clean up real good after a three hour shower and then in their Whites walking dowtown:biggrin:
