I think this is a wonderful idea, I am really interested because my DS (rising senior) is so hopeful for USMMA, AND my DD was just graduated from a 4 yr, top 10 Engineering University; but the acronyms really ruin the fun for me...

Is that MSC Industrial Supply Company, Mortgage contracting Services, Maritime Craft Service, OR Marine Conservation Society?

Maybe I should know, but if you are going to be forthcoming with the information, please don't leave me guessing.

Thanks,

We've got one more small roller coaster hill to negotiate this summer, but DD has accepted a position as 3rd engineer with NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). The job will be ready and waiting for her as soon as she is ready for it.

So as far as I know our DS is "heading to the Union Hall" shortly after graduation and looking for a sea going position on a commercial vessel.

Man, that was me many, many years ago.. He will need a good portion of perseverance and determination if that's the path he has chosen. Good Luck, Fair Winds and Clear Skies to your son as he takes his final cross bearings at Kings Point and departs on what I hope is a long and successful career at sea. Welcome him for me to the "fellowship of the craft"..

DD is headed to Sector NY as an Ensign in the Coast Guard - Marine Inspector. Very proud of her and her classmates..Congrats again to the Class of 2012

Congrats to the class of 2012. It's a long time coming right mom and dad? It's great to see where people are headed! Keep posting. It would be neat also to hear about the options your sons and daughters thought through, in addition to what you've already supplied.
