Does anyone know whether or not the squadron lists have come out and if so where I can find them? Thanks!

Check the last page of the, Questions about "Instructions to Appointees", thread. It says they will be posted on June 13th.

Actually it states they will be posted "AFTER 13 June" in the instructions to appointees on page one under the "ARRIVAL" heading.

I would be surprised if the academy releases your BCT (and thus academic year) squadrons before I-day because they never have in the past. My class found out in Doolittle hall right at the start of inprocessing.

This year they want to do things a bit different for I-Day. They are having us come in to I-Day in groups based off of what squadron we are in. Thus, they need to tell us what squadron we are in so we know when to report.

I can see prep school doing it, but I have my doubts about everyone else IMHO...

Okay, here is the official document copied and pasted out of the "Instructions to Appointees" handbook.

Arrival
All appointees must arrive at Doolittle Hall for inprocessing
on the Academy on 28 June 2011. Plan to arrive in the local area
on the 27th of June to meet a 7:00 a.m. inprocessing time on the
28th. Further instructions will be posted online after 13 June
2012 at http://www.usafa.edu/df/dfr/?catname=dfr1. Appointees
will also be able to view their squadron assignments and their
exact arrival time on this website. Appointees should also bring
all required items as specified in these instructions or as
supplemented on the website. Appointees who arrive without all
the required items will suffer a great deal of inconvenience and
delay during inprocessing. Don’t add stress to this first day by
arriving without every requirement.

Hope this is a better explanation than I provided earlier. Cheers:thumb:

Do any of the 2012 preppies or preppie parents have the definitive list on what exactly needs to be filled out or not, or mailed or not/brought with to I Day. I'm trying to play wingman here on what is left to do and frankly it's confusing, because you guys did a lot of this like the tattoo form already.

Pictures need pictures of a 1000 appointees showing up at Doolittle at the same time!!!!!

Squadron Assignments should be posted on the appointee online application! :)

RE: Squadron assignments

My son just received his squadron assignment. He will be part of the
"Demons". Not really my favorite name, but he is happy regardless of the name of his squadron.

DS is Hell Cats. I guess that's appropriate as I was a platoon leader in the Hounds of Hell of the 2nd "Hell on Wheels" Armored Division.

DS is Cobras. That means 9, 10, 11, or 12 for the academic year! For BCT that equates to A, B, C, or D squad of Cobras.

I don't understand this information?

I don't understand what it means when you say it is 9,10, 11 or 12 for the academic year? And I also don't understand the A,B, C or D part either?
Please explain...
Thanks, batmom
