Teacher SOE

Just an email address should be fine.
They'll receive an email and confidentially rate you as a student.
If they choose to, I believe they can also attach a recommendation letter.

Where are the "teacher online forms"?

...are they on the portal? If so, what tab? I have yet to find them. My son is actually at SLS as we speak for the second week and the very next day off to Boys State. SO, I am trying to get things in order for him when he returns.

Just a gentle suggestion and JMHO, but your son should do his forms/portal/follow-ups himself. I can understand wanting to help, but this is good training for West Point. He will do a good job, trust him.

I do appreciate your honesty and your suggestions. Just tryin to find out whats missing. He has yet to ever discuss anything in regards to Teacher SOE's.

The teacher SOEs are in the SSK (Second Step Kit) which is the on-line application. The SSKs have not been opened up on the candidate portals yet. The ones that go to SLS tend to have the SSK open up sooner than others so watch out for it in the coming weeks on the portal.

Last year I believe the SSK's came out the week after the last SLS session. After a whole day of admissions briefings, he will know exactly what needs to be done for his application

The important message is that your son needs to have good summer e-mail contact information for three of his teachers. Two of those teachers MUST be math and English.
Good luck.

And the third from a Physics or Chemistry teacher.
A SOE can be from Math, English and Chem/Physics teachers that the candidate had in 9-12 grade.

We went to two USMA events and were told A) that the teachers who did the SOEs could be from any high school grade and B) that only the Junior year Math and English teachers could be used for SOEs. Hopefully that will be clarified at the briefing. DS set up advance notice with his Junior year English/Math/Physics teachers but I know he would probably sub a different one for English if that's allowed.

Don't you just love conflicting information!

If a Regional Commander was at one of the events you mentioned, then that would be the one I would take to heart.

Things can and do change from year to year, but in the past, there were no instructions for the SOE that said that the Math and English teachers had to be from the Junior year.
