It is hard being from New England

What could be worse than New England's Accent

Well at least they are represented by Tom Brady.

What I have to deal with....
My Jersey Accent and for that matter being represented in the national conscience, by Snookie, Jwoww, Vinnie and the rest of the Jersey Shore Crew

Years ago we hosted a couple students that were part of a group from the newly defunct Soviet Union. The girls from the group all looked like little "Madonna's" I asked one of the boys about how they were dressed, he said that the only exposure they had to young American culture was watching MTV that had just been allowed to be broadcast in their hometown.

I can only imagine what these kids would look like if they were to visit New Jersey after only being able to watch Jersey Shore.

I really sympathize with you, I have family in New Jersey, they cringe everytime Snookie makes the news.

Being from Seattle, we just get every "Rain joke" in the book. all true by the way.

Well- if you really want to hear what a Bostonian sounds like- here's Mayor Tom Menino (He's been the mayor for 22 years) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-UWthhS_Bw

BTW: It's pronounced "Beah"- not Beer. It's "Cape Cawd"; Worcester is pronounced "Wistah"- not "wooster", and it's "Hahvid". The train is called "The T"; and they are just "the Sox"- not "Red Sox nation" or any of that other trendy post 2004 nonsense!

Maybe so, but the singing barber was correct when he crooned "The bluest skies you've ever seen are in Seattle." Those days aren't many, though.

I can definitely relate sir...

... wicked close to "Wistah" here!

And New England is much better than Manhatten or Rhode Island Chhoooowder. Always thought Seattle hid the real weather so people from California wouldn't move there.:thumb: I always thought it was a beautiful city. I have never seen the show but I think many of them are from Staten Island so Jersey is still safe.

I used to tell them in Alabama that Walter Cronkite sounded like me.:shake:

I haven't been to The No-Name for years- pretty good restaurant out on the Fish Pier. This dish BTW is what is really quintessential New England

Menu_slide_lobster.jpg
"THIS IS YOUR LOBSTER. THERE ARE MANY IN THE SEA LIKE IT, BUT THIS ONE IS YOURS. HE'S BEEN FETCHED FROM THE ATLANTIC OCEAN, PROMPTLY BROILED, THEN SERVED FRESH TO YOU WITH DIPPING BUTTER AND CORN ON THE COB. ORDER A COLD DRINK FROM THE BAR AND START THIS MEAL WITH OUR FAMOUS SEAFOOD CHOWDER!"

The other place that is quintessentially New England is in Newport RI - Flo's Clamshack: You haven't had Fried Clams till you've gone to Flo's

In the Plymouth Colony, lobster was so detested that laborers had it specified in their contracts that they would only be fed the stuff at a max three times a week.

It only got fancy in the late 19th Century.

No lemon?

Flo's at first beach ain't the best IHMO although they consider themselves the best with a good view. Atlantic Grill down the road is a lot better and Anthony's Seafood and both are where the locals go. No view though. Try this place on America's Cup:
