I'm finishing up my security clearance form for the Academy and I don't know if I am supposed to show up on I-day with the form signed or if I need to wait to sign it until I get to the Academy.

Well, it wouldn't hurt you to sign the form when you get there... but if you sign it already, they might not accept it because they need a witness to see you sign it, kinda like a bank notary thing

It is our understanding that the basic cadets will input all the informantion from the Form 86 into a computer during BCT so no signature is required at this point. Pima has also advised multiple time to keep a hard copy at home.

+1 on Blackbird's comment. I actually emailed the security officer on the page and got that exact information. Basics will be inputting all of their information into a system at the Academy. To take this a step further, I took the time, as I knew DS would not, to highlight all the entries on his SF form. :shake: Hopefully it will same him time and frustration later. We also have two more copies to keep at home. :shake:

Hey, did you print out the pdf and then hand write everything? Or did you do it on the computer typing everything out? I wasn't able to type everything out, my computer wouldn't do it. Also, is it around 127 pages?

I typed everything into the computer. Although it probably would have been easier to just hand write everything. But yes, it had many pages.

My DH had to help DS enter all information on his work PC laptop. The file was not user friendly on our Macbooks. We printed all the pages. Might see if you can save it and see if you can get Staples or FedEx Kinko's to print it out, might be more cost effective.

paperwork question

I have another paperwork question. My DS is finishing everything (finally), and had a problem on the page 143--the emergency contact page. He had two markouts on the page. Does anyone know how we can get another one of these pages?? Thanks for your help in advance!

paper 143

We couldn't open the link for this paper; if anyone could email it, we would be grateful!
Thanks.

I am currently working on the SF86 and have a question about it.
In the "Relatives" section it asks for my relative's place of birth and there is a blank for the country of their birth with a drop down menu.
I could not find United States of America anywhere on that list.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You leave the country field blank. We had this question also and asked USAFA.

paperwork question

Okay, we have a question on the medical form for airmanship programs. What did you guys put for cadet grade & class year? I would guess the year is 2016, not 2012. Also, is this a form that your DS or DD went ahead and signed?? Also, did your cadets sign the health form as well. My DS signed both of these, and then we wondered if he needed to wait.

Thanks,
Candace

I put C4C and 2016. And I thought we were supposed to sign them, so I went ahead and did it. I finally have all of the paper work done and ready for thursday. I can't believe it's only a week away.

Thanks for the info! Yes, he went ahead and signed it also. On the line that asks for squadron, did you just put the name of the squadron that you were
given on the portal?? Also, what is SSAN that is on the bottom of the page?
Yes, we can't believe that it is finally here!! Well, almost here.

Thanks again for the help.

paperwork

So is the squadron just the name of the squadron that was named on the online portal??

Thanks in advance.
