When DS has his shoulder boards pinned on, will he be with his BCT squad or his academic squad? I'm trying to figure out what area to look for him when we go out for A-Day. I've gotten the impression that the BCT squads seperate into academic squads and then march into formation with the academic squads. How do I figure out the general area to locate DS after ceremony? I'd like to get some pictures of him getting his shoulder boards pinned on. Also, the picnics that everyone is talking about after the A-day ceremony - will it be with his BCT squal or academic squad?

He'll be with his academic year squadron. From the stands looking onto Stillman field, squadrons are in order with 1-20 are left of center (east), 21-40 are right of center (west, closer to mountains). Any picnics would probably be with friends in your sons academic squadron. Parents usually coordinate those though, just FYI.

On I-day we were given a colored chart with the list of squadrons for BCT and eventually, academic squadron designations. Can anyone post or explain what squadrons do the doolies go after BCT I & II?
Thanks.

Okay, I'll give it a shot. The BCT Squadrons are designated A-J and each has four flights a,b,c,d. Each flight represents one squadron. So with 10 squadrons each with 4 flights you have 40 total. Now take A-a(Agressors A flt.) they will go to Academic Squadron 1. A-b will go to Squadron 2. So here is how it will all play out.

A-a=1 A-b=2 A-c=3 A-d=4
B-a=5 B-b=6 B-c=7 B-d=8
C-a=9 C-b=10 C-c=11 C-d=12
D-a=13 D-b=14 D-c=15 D-d=16
E-a=17 E-b=18 E-c=19 E-d=20
F-a=21 F-b=22 F-c=23 F-d=24
G-a=25 G-b=26 G-c=27 G-d=28
H-a=29 H-b=30 H-c=31 H-d=32
I-a=33 I-b=34 I-c=35 I-d=36
J-a=37 J-b=38 J-c=39 J-d=40

If you need further clarification let me know.
