Thanks to all for the uplifting advice. Happy to report that I got an email from my DS last night and he sounded much better. He said that apparently he has all of the hard teachers according to the upperclassmen. His response, "oh well, builds character." Now that, sounded like my typical little big man. Gotta love that boy even though his moods swing across the pendulum from one day to the next.
Of course he had some complaining too, "basically mom, everyone sucks right now, but getting better."
Said first "unofficial" day of FB practice was awesome and the team was very helpful, now going to study!

The KP experience is not supposed to be pleasurable and often lives up to that expectation.

Sounds like he is well along in the transition to a full on Kings Pointer laughing, whining, complaining and then moving on with life in a fatalistic manner in the same conversation is pretty much how 85% of us got/get through KP.

Our DS too is a football player. Being involved in football, another sport or activity seems to help during Plebe year. Although studying is the number one priority. I am glad things are going better for your DS.

Early days Yet..

...but DS is enjoying the experience so far. No complaints so I am thinking that will come later for us:rolleyes:

They have rolled into the fold

You'll hear "now I have to go study" ending alot of conversations. Its when you dont hear that anymore that you should worry.

Speaking as a parent of a 2013 Football dude.... you will find that the team will be an island of refuge for your DS. Nothing is easy at KP - but the friendships forged on the field are strong. They really do look-out (Rule 5) for one another.
