I am a rising senior in high school and will be applying for an Army ROTC scholarship very shortly. I was curious if anybody knew about the reputations of the Army ROTC Programs at Duke, UVA, Vanderbilt, Lehigh, Michigan, or Bucknell. I have visited most of these schools and met with the PMS but it seems almost every single person that I have met with, has left the school already! Any insight would help. Thank you.

Well academically all of those schools are in the upper tiers. As far as ROTC goals most programs are relatively the same in terms of course content, requirements, and regimen.

Sure a Ranger Challenge team might be better at Duke than say UVA or Michigan might have won the MacArthur Award last year and Bucknell didn't. Those details are rather minute and you have to take into account that cadre and cadets rotate constantly. For example, I have been in my ROTC program longer then any of the cadre and have been under the command of 3 different PMSs. Go to the school where you want to go (and where you got a scholarship if applicable) and just do your best

TL;DR It really doesn't matter

^ true. PMS at Baylor, TCU, and UCLA all counseled my DD the same way... go to the school you will be happiest at. The PMS changes ever2-3 years, so does the SGT overseeing your PT and Ranger Challenge, as does the Major who teaches the MSI class, etc.

I you look at which Battalions had cadets most decorated at LDAC, the list would surprise you... hardly any Units from USNWR Top 100 schools sent the most decorated cadets at LDAC. link is here, post #5 http://www.serviceacademyforums.com/showthread.php?t=25020

Agree with all above. Im on my 3rd PMS, and had 2 different MS2 instructors. We're getting our 3rd SMI since I've been a cadet as well. Cadre change, often. If you really want to get a feel for how well you'll be prepared for LDAC at a certain school meet with the MS3 Instructor and NCO, if they have one. My unit has both an O and NCO teach the MS3 class. These instructors usually influence a program more than any other cadre, besides the PMS. Also, try and talk to cadets who have already been to LDAC to see how prepared they were by the cadre.
