Trying to make opto appt. However, the office has not returned my calls but the message states that they are open today and seeing pt's yet noone answers the phone. I just started today should I wait until monday before I request a change of opto doc?

Let me get this right, you just got the clear for the apptmt, and because they have a busy signal today when you called; regardless of the amount of times, you want DoDMERB to assign a new doc after a day?

My advice: calm down. It's a summer Friday afternoon, and people may be off.

Agree with EDelahanty. Take a deep breath or you will be a basket case by the time this whole process is over!

Simply asking advice!! The office phone was NEVER busy, it was sent to the machine which stated they were in the office. Again, simply asking advice!! I was hoping to get a response from those who have experienced this themselves. At what point does one get concerned and send a request for a change of docs? That was the intent of the question.

You asked for advice, it was given. Just relax. As most people on here will tell you, its a marathon not a sprint. If the office wasnt responsible or able to handle patients properly they probably wouldn't be trusted to do so.

My doctor's office usually gets back to me within a day or so unless it's an emergency. If you've called for an appointment on a DODMERB/Concorde matter, the doctor is likely to have done these examinations before. Try them again on Monday or Tuesday.

But please, whatever you do, don't go all caps on us.

Id never go all caps, but I did go bold. Point taken, thank you. Was just curious as to how long this goes on prior to a request. However, will continue to call monday & tuesday.

Did you try calling Concorde? We are (sometimes) privy to information about our own physicians. It's summer, and its Friday - so yes, they may have been out for the afternoon.

If you left a message (hopefully only one!), give them until tomorrow to return your call. If they do not, call Concorde at 800-966-9790...we are the best poised to assist with these types of issues.

Cheers,
Joe Papp

It took DS a couple of calls to each office to get through. In one case, the office had not yet received whatever they needed from Concorde, so appointment could not be made. Called Concorde and that was corrected within a few minutes. So appointments can take several calls and minor issues may need to be resolved. All in all it worked out fine.
