I dropped DS off this weekend for INTRO & FROG Week. I got all of one minute to say goodbye before he was marched away. Although I miss him I can honestly say that seeing the excitement in his face when he hugged me and said, "Love you guys, gotta go!" and rushed off to join his fellow FROGS actually made it a lot easier for me. I have not seen DS this excited in years, mabey ever. Also if you join the North Georgia Accepted Cadets on Facebook you can see updated pics of FROG week daily. For all future North Georgia parents here is a tip: Spend time with your kid prior to attending INTRO & FROG week. You won't have any time with him or her. We thought we would get 15 minutes to say our goodbyes but in reality it was only one minute. My wife and I attended Parent INTRO and the one thing that stood out to me is that this school definately wants the kids to succeed, on their own, without parental help, and has a ton of on campus resources and advisors to help the students. They students just have to be pro active to get all the benefits. PS, There were 253 incoming cadets for the fall semester.

So was it not as bad as you expected? I say good-bye to my DS on Saturday at VMI. He is very excited, which makes it easier for me, but I'm sure it will still be hard. I am both looking forward to it and dreading it at the same time.
Update
I got a 1 min phone call from DS last night. He said he loved us, was feeling great, and having fun. He then said he had to go. I am pretty sure the school had all the kids call home for a minute or two last night and I really appreciate that. That phone call did wonders for making me at ease.
