Aside from the 3 required letters of recommendation one can send in additional letters. I couldn't find very much instruction or information on this from the Candidate booklet or when I spoke to a very short tempered unhelpful woman on the phone (all she could offer was to read the Candidate booklet which I already had). What do I tell the person I would like to write a letter for me? For instance, what specifically would USAFA like them to discuss about me? Also, where do they send it and how will USAFA know it's for me? Thank you for any advice or information you can offer!

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

Letters of recommendation are not required, however, we strongly encourage them. You may submit up to, but no more than, three letters from individuals who know you well and can speak about your character, integrity, leadership abilities and experiences.

These letters are in addition to the required teacher evaluations, and should therefore be from individuals different from the instructors who will complete the School Official’s Evaluation (USAFA Form 145).
