Pretty good week for Military and Maritime College football. Citadel beat a favored Georgia Southern team, VMI won in Lexington to even its record , Norwich won and NY Maritime won a squeaker over Mass Maritime to keep the "Chowder Bowl". Sadly, Texas A&M couldn't hang on to their half time lead and lost a close one to Florida in their first conference game as an SEC member.

UUgghh. Sadly is right about the A&M loss. We are truly long suffering football fans. Congratulations to all the others!

VT had two games this week and won both, so there were some very happy cadets. GO HOKIES!!

I had to suffer watching a Hokies home game on TV for the first time in 4 years! Tragedy.

Have to admit, Norwich was more excited that we beat West Point 35-15 in Women's Rugby.

The Citadel is off to a great start this year. 3-0, beating two top 10 teams. The football team is very happy and DS says they are looking forward to the rest of the season. Don't know how long it will last but for this week they are number 10 in the TPS poll and 14 in the FCS coaches poll.

Vmi vs navy

For those of us that can't make the trip to Annapolis the game will be aired on DirecTV at 330 channel 613.

Well, it's just as well you didn't go, but the atmosphere was fun!
Ah- well the first half wasn't so bad- from middle of 3rd qtr on though was pretty rough. Other than A&M slaughtering SC State- (nothing to write home about there- that's a stat pad kind of game), I haven't looked to see how any of the other Military/Maritimes did this weekend?

NC State walked all over The Citadel. The Citadel was never really in it. While not surprised NC State won, a more competitive game would have been nice.

I was there too and really enjoyed the game. Until the 3 Q VMI was keeping it respectable. Oh well. Still, a lot of fun on a nice day where the rain held off until well after the end of the game. And it was great to see the kids.

CGA blew a 19 point lead (they led 28-9 in the 3rd qtr) and lost to Mass Maritime 42-38.

Coast Guard's QB threw for 468 yds and 3 touchdowns, unfortunately he also had 4 interceptions all of which led to points.

Mass Maritime had a QB who threw for 420 and a RB who rushed for over 200.

The teams combined for 1,297 total yards, 695 by MMA.

Defense was not on display.

Luigi?

Is that the first loss CGA endured by the MMA?
