Class of 2017- College Application List

I always think it is interesting to see where people are/have applied to.

1. The citadel- waiting on counselor
2. Norwich University- waiting on counselor
3. Great Lakes Maritime- Accepted
4. Massachusetts Maritime- Submitted

I believe that the Citadel and Norwich are going to be colleges which I am truly on the fence for admissions with. My grades are less than stellar, however, I believe my EC's and prior and current leadership roles will keep me afloat.

Wow all the academies! Well most. When did you apply to the Citadel?

I'm a little curious. Which of these is your "safety" school?

One of the things I have been asked about by my parents and guidance counselor was the lack of a safety school!
I received my acceptance to Kansas State University in July, so my reasoning was that I could focus more on my "target" and "reach" schools than my safety schools. I was also meaning to ask on these forums if that was a good idea or if I should try and look for more safeties.

And jshrz, yeah! I really love the academies' structure; I find it is something that I crave as a student! And I actually just checked in with my guidance counselor about my rec, and she said that she filled it out and that it was sent the day before. I completed my app on Sept. 18 and on that night forwarded my SAT scores to the Citadel. So everything has been sent, and it will probably take a few more days for my transcript to get there and be processed!

wow the best of luck to you! i seen on the citadel page via facebook that people already have their acceptance letters :thumbdown:

Thank you so much! And to you as well! Keep me updated! Could you link me to that page? It's interesting knowing that there has been admissions activity and I'd really like to get in contact with who might be my future classmates (including you)!

It's actually on the citadel admissions Facebook page. So search citadel admissions and in their pre knob visit album from last week they have a few pictures of people with their acceptance letters.

I am on my school iPad currently so I can't link to ace book right now.

What are your stats? I am so mad my school hasn't sent my transcript to Norwich yet. They sent it to the citadel yet not Norwich and I requested the, at the same time!

Hope you're visiting the appropriate folks at your school daily, and when they give you a date, as appropriate, to follow up on it. The squeeky wheel gets the grease. :thumb:

We have a college counseling center who handles all sending of transcripts. They already hate me because they refused to give me an unofficial transcript and I went to the principals office, got one and faxed it.

Just thought I'd provide an update! The Citadel received everything; I called and checked. Told me I'd hear back in 4-6 weeks!
 
I was reaccepted to Norwich University today for fall 2013 into the corps of cadets, class of 2017.

Waiting to hear back from North Georgia, fingers crossed.

roughly 2 weeks for me, but I had already been accepted before, so my essay and information was generally the same, so they didnt really need to go over anything.
 
Just wanted to mention a few updates! I received an offer of appointment to the United States Naval Academy yesterday! So excited and honored! Still can't believe it!

Also, I called the Citadel admissions office and asked if they had my complete application. They said they did, and that it would take about 4 weeks - 6 weeks for a decision. Is this an accurate timeframe for those who have been accepted?
