Hi,

Does anyone know if a B&G Officer interview is required for the Admissions board to look at my application?
Or is it possible that the Admissions board might look at my application and potentially offer a LOA without having the interview yet.
Thanks

They prefer that it is, but if it becomes problemmatic, no.

But asking that question at this time of the admission season, if you're wondering about will they look at an app NOW w/o a BGO interview, I'd speculate not.

As is so often noted, IF you are speculating, focusing, and fretting about getting an LOA on 01 October, you're missing the mark.

If the answer was that you had to have your BGO interview, then what would that change for you? You should put more focus on how to schedule and complete your BGO interview than focusing about an LOA.

I am asking because that is the only thing I need besides my dobmerb.
My B&G officer is traveling and will not be back for a while so I was just wondering

I can't speak on LOAs since that is a special process and doesn't go through a full Admissions Board, but since the BGO interview is required as part of the regular full board review (unless a bit of time has gone by), it's likely they wouldn't make a decision without one.

I'm kind of curious how come no other BGOs can interview you (this isn't something you can change or influence) if EVERYTHING else (other than DODMERB) is complete.

Memphis, if you read this....one point where a BGO, being proactive, would have been a good thing!

Hi jadler03,

I'm sorry but I'm not sure if I understood you properly.
Other than my personal bgo, I have been in contact with another bgo officer in a nearby district.
So would it not be possible to have an interview with him?
Also, I will be attending a CVW on the 11th-13.
Is it possible to have an interview on campus, or is that not heard of.
Thank you

You should discuss another BGO interviewing you with your current BGO.
When was your application (other than DODMERB/CFA) complete? How long is your current BGO gone for?

I just got everything submitted recently
and he mentioned how he was going to leave during the end of this week and come back in around 3 weeks later

It sounds to me, that you should talk over the interview with your currently assigned BGO. It will be up to him/her to decide what to do.

yea he said that we would schedule it probably after he returns. but i was just wondering if it was possible for the admission board to view my application because a good friend of mine received a loa and he has very similar stats as me

My best guess is that LOAs aren't given on incomplete records; it's likely everything is normally in when that decision is made, though, I can't say with 100% certainty. What I do know, it's unlikely your record will go before the Admissions Board without the interview at this time -- and that would be my bigger concern than being reviewed for an LOA.

Also similar stats doesn't equate to an LOA. A LOT of things factor into that, which you might or might not even be aware of.

also is it possible for two candidates at the same school to receive loas from usna?
