Does anyone know if USAFA will accept scores from the January 26, 2013 SAT test. I remember reading last year that they would accept scores until mid-February but I can't I find anything on the Academy website regarding this issue.

Thanks for your help.

Admissions site says January 31 is the deadline for all candidate kit documents. So I would say no your January SAT scores will not make it.

Negative. All SAT/ACT scores must be submitted, in addition to the complete application, received and processed NLT January 31. I know, as I took an ACT test around the same time for USAFA to receieve early February back when I initially applied in 2009, but they hadn't accepted it.

If you do take it, I'd submit the scores still. Especially if they show improvement. I submitted January ACT scores last year and they accepted them and updated my profile in February. I don't see how attempting to get them updated could hurt your chances at all.

This is what is on the Application page under the Academic Performance Section in italics.

*While your status is "Prospect" or "Applicant," the data in this block is all self-reported (by you). Should you become a "Candidate," this data will be replaced by data from "official" sources (i.e. the testing agencies and your school).
**Scores with brackets ("<>") may not be competitive for the Academy. We recommend you retake the ACT or SAT. We will accept new scores until February 15 of the year you wish to enter the Academy.

Astro2016: Therefore, it appears a candidate can take the 26 Jan 13 SAT as 15 Feb 13 will be immediately after the 'normal' SAT posting time line (i.e. 19 day; 14 Feb 13).

I think posters are confusing end date for MOC noms, with end date for candidate files.

MOC nom must be submitted by the end of January. Candidate files must be completed by Feb. 15th.

Actually, it appears they pushed up that date for candidates, because I recall it use to be Mar 1st or about. I would assume that is because they are holding back now regarding apptmts unless they are LOA, or principal. Last yr it went from March Mass Mailing to April Almost All Apptmts Arrival. Pushing it into Feb. would bring it back to March Mass Mailing.
