My son has an alergy to Amoxicillin. Anyone know if that will be an issue for DODMERB? there are so many other anti-biotics around now that it's never been an issue through 18 years.

Not sure, but try the help desk

I'm not sure. Try sending your question directly to DoDMERB at: helpdesk@dodmerb.tma.osd.mil and they will get back to you soon. Include your son's name and last 4 of SSN.

Best wishes.

Definitely disclose it on the medical history form and explain what happened when he took the drug. However, it most likely won't be an issue. Please don't try and hide allergic reactions to medicines. My kid has an allergy (severe) to another antibiotic and it was not an issue.

Thanks for the advice. it was fully disclosed on the questionaire. we'll see, but it looks hopeful that it won't be an issue.

Update:we have found out that the drug allergy is not an issue, as hoped for. However, a separated shoulder injury 3 years ago from football is now the item DODMERB is seeking more info on. We'll keep our fingers crossed.

Great news about the allergy. Just submit the Dr.'s final report that the shoulder has healed completely without restrictions. Let us know how it turns out. Best wishes. :thumb:

Amoxicillin, penicillin and sulfa drugs are very common drug allergies I doubt it would be an issue.

Got the OK today on both the drug allergy (no issue) and the separated shoulder (no issue). DoDMERB asked for a paper form to be filled out describing what, if any, lingering issues there are. Actually this info was previously supplied on the original medial form. oh well. that's the military.

Now just working on nominations....
thanks all.
