Ishihara color blind test

Does anyone know what a passing score is on the Ishihara PIP colorblind test for the USCGA?

I got 11/14. As of right now I'm qualified for USAFA and pending waiver submission for USNA. I'm starting my USGCA application now so I'm curious to see if I will be medically qualified for the coast guard.

Our vision standards are the same as USNA, so if you did not meet their vision standards...unfortunately, you're not going to meet ours either.

My understanding is that USCGA is even a bit stricter on the color vision issue than USNA... USNA in the past has allowed cadets to stay and do their service restricted line, but if you don't pass at USCGA, there is no such option.

Vision standards, as applied by DoDMERB, are the same for both service academies; however, we have also heard (you would need to confirm with USNA) that midshipmen who are found to have a color vision deficiency while attending USNA are normally allowed to stay/graduate and be commissioned. Cadets who are found to have a color vision deficiency may be allowed to stay/graduate, depending upon when the deficiency is discovered, but are normally going to be medically discharged and will definitely not be commissioned.

The Navy standard is:

Color Vision: Must pass any one of the following two tests:

(1) FALANT or Optec 900: 9/9 correct on the first trial or, if any are missed, at least 16.18 correct on the combined second and third trials.

(2) PIP color plates (Any red-green screening test with at least 14 diagnostic plates; see manufacturer instructions for scoring information), randomly administered under Macbeth lamp: scoring plates 2-15, at least 12/14 correct.
