I've received an interview for Rep. Woodall (this Saturday) and just received a letter from Senator Isakson stating that I was basically rejected. Does that mean I have higher chance of being rejected from the other senator as well?

Don't know but DS got same letter as well as one from Chambliss. We haven't heard from rep yet though.

Both senators rejected me sadly. I'm thinking what I lack is sports because my extracurriculars and grades are good

No. In fact, both Senator's offices talk to each other about candidates. They do this to ensure they dont both nominate the same two candidates, thus wasting a spot for another highly qualified candidate. Last year I got a nomination from Sen. Chambliss, and my home rep., but Isakson sent me rejection letter very early in the process

I was rejected from Isakson as well, but I am interviewing for Chambliss this Saturday. I have not heard from Rep. Scott yet.

So is it impossible to interview for both senators? I have an interview with Isakson on Friday, but got rejected by Chambliss. And I too am waiting to hear from Rep. Scott.

Nomination Received

DS received letter from Senator Chambliss notifying him that he received a nomination to the Merchant Marine Academy! To say he was excited would be an understatement. Of course, his mother and I (and his sister) are proud of him and together we will wait patiently for a decision on an actual appointment.

I have seen firsthand the dedication, hard work, and perseverance an applicant needs to get to this point. So, good luck to all the academy hopefuls in Georgia and the rest of the country!

eboyd is correct. In GA the offices speak with each other because there are many applicants so each nom is a precious commodity. My DD was rejected by Isakson and nominated by Chambliss. DD still has not heard back from the congressman. Keep your chin up!

Thanks

Thank you ProudAmerican and congrats to your daughter and family as well. Which Academy did she receive her nomination to? Did she get her nomination to the Academy she wanted?

DS is still hoping for nomination WP or USNA from congressman. However, he is very pleased with the Merchant Marine Academy too!

Good luck in the appointment front too!

So son had interviews with Isakson and Chambliss and today received letters which indicated no nomination - it is my understanding that Scott does not do interviews and makes nominations in mid-December. Can anyone confirm that information.

Congrats on your nomination!!!! I also received one from Chambliss but for the Naval Academy. I was so excited when I found out!

Austin Scott did have a board for interviews on November 12th. I believe that that was their only interview day.

Thanks much. DD's nomination was for USNA, and she also has an LOA, so she's in and VERY excited. Time to quit the part time job!!!

Proud,

Congrats to your DD. Just remember the old joke here...wrap her up in bubble wrap NOW! Keep moving forward with Plan B.

An injury in May could equal implementing Plan B come I Day.

Things just got interesting....DD received a USAFA nomination today to go with her USNA nom, so she may have to choose between USNA and USAFA. Any comparative insights from folks out there?
