You have a fantastic resume! Very well rounded. I don't see how you could possibly make it better. Keep up the excellent work, don't slack off, and you'll make for a very competitive candidate!

Those are pretty good stats. The rest is up to the admissions/nomination boards, so all I can say is keep working hard, and you have a good chance at having an appointment come your way.

Your stats look better than mine and I got a LOA.

Interesting..

Did you ever have time to goof off? Serious note very nice! Get your stuff in early, I think you have a very good chance.

Really?? Well this is good news, ha. (Although I know that doesn't necessarily mean I'll receive one). Were you recruited for any sports? And when did you submit your application? Mine was completely finished mid october.

USAFA hopeful: you seem to have very good credentials and it would seem have a very good chance to get an offer of appointment. Other than keeping grades up, getting the nom, staying in shape, I suggest that you be sure you make sure you want to go there. I mean REALLY want it. This may seem like a strange question at this point, of course you want to get in, but do you really know what you are getting into? Have you spoken with current and former cadets? Have you had all your questions answered? Do you know what life is like there? (as much as is possible). This is like no other college in many ways. You could probably get into Harvard, MIT, Yale, etc, so why USAFA?

I'm not trying to be a downer, but this is a major, life-changing decision. You may be surprised but there are people who turn down their appointments. People who get there and leave because it wasn't what they were expecting, even in the first few days. 2016 lost 60 cadets in the first 2 months (though some were from injuries and illness) and more leave at many points during their time at USAFA.

My DS loves it there and has thrived as many do. He spent a great deal of time talking to people of all ages who had been there, went to summer program at the academy and after his appointment, went another time to shadow a cadet. These experiences gave him valuable insight and helped to solidify his choice. They also prepared him for his time at the academy which, for him, was the perfect choice.

Good luck to you and be sure to have Plan B, C, D ready.

Okay, really? I'm shocked you're even asking if you have a shot...and it almost seems like you're asking sarcastically....you should be confident you'll be accepted. I mean, come on. Look at those stats. Great ACT, good physical shape, a practically unreal amount of community service....there is no reason for you not to get in. Chill out.

Sorry...I'm just super nervous! I like to get as much feedback as I can. But thank you for your opinion, I appreciate it.

Nothing to be sorry about. You just want to get chanced and evaluated. I see no problem with that. It doesnt matter how stellar you may seem, if the academy doesnt want you, they wont take you..so i dont think you shluld be confident of getting in nor do i think you shluld be discouraged.

If i were to evaluate as a student myself, i would say youre very strong competition! ;)

Thank you. And I'm really sorry if my question comes off as cocky or sarcastic, that was not my intention in any way. Just trying to gain opinions of others.
