Towards the end of my junior year, I was visited at my school by one of the Navy coaches. We talked about a visit and he gave me his number, but it was nothing too serious. Earlier this year, I learned I wouldn't be able to have an official BGO meeting because I am a "recruited athlete", yet I haven't talked to any coach since around April. I highly doubt that I am a legitimate recruit anymore, so my question is that will me being labeled as a recruited athlete affect me receiving an appointment, being that I do not think I am being sought after anymore for athletics? USNA has been my first choice since middle school, and the opportunity to play a varsity sport was an after thought that I only pursued because I thought it may give me a better chance to receive an appointment. Any insight on how this recruited athlete status affects me will be appreciated as I am still not completely clear on it.
