Are all applicants notified by mail or email when their record is scheduled to go to CCEB? If applying for EA II, do they hold all decisions until Feb. 1st or could a candidate hear before then? Thanks!

In years past they have sent out offers of admissions about every other week. They review the applicants in batches and make decisions on each batch as they go. All EA II applicants are not reviewed at the same time. I think applicants are reviewed on a first in - first out basis.

Applicants are notified via e-mail when their record is scheduled to be reviewed by the Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board. We plan to release decisions on a rolling basis beginning in mid-November, so you may hear earlier than the final notification dates: EA1 - 12/24; EA2 - 2/1; RA - 4/15.

DoDMERB Physicals

When will candidates normally be notified by for their physicals? My DD submitted for EA1. I also understand the past week the Academy has experienced!

If we believe they are academically competitive for an appointment, we'll request a medical examination from DoDMERB as soon as a student completes their application; however, the last time we exported a list of those applicants to DoDMERB was Friday (10/26) because of Hurricane Sandy. We'll get caught up on Monday, so all those applicants should then be receiving scheduling information from DoDMERB in 7-10 days.

DODMERB

What happens if a candidate has already had his DoDMERB exam for another academy and was DQ. Will USCGA initiate the waiver process immediately or wait until it decides whether or not to offer an appointment?

Medical standards vary slightly by service, so just because you're not medically qualified for one service academy doesn't necessarily mean you won't be medically qualified for another. We do wait until an applicant has been tendered a conditional appointment to begin the medical waiver review process...if you don't have an appointment, you don't really need a medical waiver.

Hi everyone,

If I received an email on 11/3/12 saying that "Your record has been scheduled for review in Early Action Group One and will be forwarded to the Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board in the near future", is it likely that I will hear back before the EA1 notification date of 12/24/12?

thanks for any responses

Yes, if you submitted your application before the EA I deadline of October 15th, you will receive your appointment notification by 12/24.

I am aware of the 12/24 final notification date, but I was wondering what the earliest possible time of notification may be for EA1 applicants. I have heard that EA1 applicants can be notified as early as Nov. 18th...is that likely this year?

Read Objee's post earlier in this thread. You could potentially have an admissions decision earlier than 12/24 for EA1.

Once you receive the email stating that your application is under review by the CCEB, you may receive your appointment notice anytime between then and the notification guarantee date.

I can guarantee no EA1 applicants will be notified by 11/18 since today is 11/18 and we haven't released any notifications yet. The first round of appointment recommendations were forwarded to the Director of Admissions on Friday, so I'm sure they'll be released as soon as he and the Superintendent approve them. Records not recommended for an appointment still need to be screened for prep school, so those notifications will not be released until that occurs. If you're being reviewed in EA1, all I know for sure is you'll receive your notification by 12/24.
