Hello all. I am an AOG sponsored West Point prepster at Valley Forge for this year. If anyone has any questions about Valley Forge or anything in genereal feel free to ask!

When and how did you find out you got this AOG scholarship? Admissions was telling me last year that I was one of their "top guys" for it but I never received it..... I ended up getting a 4 year ROTC scholarship to U of I and am reapplying again this year.

I found out very late in the game about it. It was about in the May timeframe and i had already put a deposit in for another school. My RC had mentioned that he was trying to get me into USMAPS, but unfortunately that fell through. Instead he told me about the scholarship which I was ecstatic for. He had contacted me by phone to let me know about it.

Good for you. Hopefully something works out for me this year.

Thanks man, same to you as well!

How strong was your file? Do you enjoy it?

People here have pretty much the same strength in file. I’ll use my stats to give an example.

2 in lacrosse
2 time lacrosse captain
2 time MVP for lacrosse
All-county for lacrosse

Extra curricular

Academics

Taking SATs in DEC

Athletics

Extra curricular

I’ve been promoted within my company to a cadet Sergeant

Mainly as a sponsored prepster your focus should always been on school. WP has told us that while all the extracurricular are great, schoolwork is most important and should be our top priority.

Thank you!

Do they just give you a list of schools to choose from?

For West Point we had a choice between 5 schools

Valley Forge
Marion Military Institute
New Mexico Military Institute
Greystone
North Georgia

My roomate is a sponsored Navy kid and he said they had a choice of over 20 schools.

From what I've been told, one must have very strong extracurricular/leadership and very strong athletics/physical fitness (as well as being tripled Q'd), to be chosen for civil prep. I am set on the leadership/extracurricular (Boys State, Boys State Governor, Boys Nation, and many others), I believe my athletics are fairly strong (2 varsity basketball letters, 1 varsity soccer letter, and I am a jiu jitsu state champion, in my division). However, I have not taken my CFA yet. I take it on the 27th. I can max the push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, and I believe I can max the shuttle run. My mile run is pretty far above average, but not maxed. Sadly, my basketball throw is only slightly above average. I'm hoping this well be enough (if I am not admitted to the class of 2017).

What were your scores like?

What company are you in, and is the predator lady still working in the mess hall?

What were your scores like?

High School CFA

(These scores are attrocious BTW, if I could go back in time and kick my high school self's ass for the performance on this CFA I would without a doubt.)
I was about 6'1 240lbs when I took this

Pushups:47
Situps:60
Pullups:3
BBall Throw:67
Mile:7:26
Shuttle:9.9

VF CFA

(Very pleased with the improvement compared to HS)
I am 6'1 195lbs now

Pushups:82
Situps:85
Pullups:10
BBall Throw:71
Mile:6:36
Shuttle:9.5

I-Co hooah, and yes she is! She's always patrolling around making sure everyone fills in the seats in the front, it is so funny lol!

What state are you from? Was your district compettive?

Im from New Jersey-District 5. It is considered one, if not the most competetive district. I think 8 got appointments last year, then myself and another girl recieved the civl prep slots, and then another kid went to USMAPS.

Civil Prep

My DS received a not an AOG but a Civil Prep Scholarship direct from WP to attend only one prep school. He has increased his ACT and SAT test scores by almost 60% and that its what he needed. Its interesting how wide and varied the sponsorships are. Good Luck!

Ahh! I've wanted to hear about how life is for you guys! I'm sending you a PM!

RC just informed DS that he is being considered for civil prep. I have no idea what it means or how it works. Any advice?
