Nomination Question

I received a principal nomination from my MOC about a week and half ago. Could anyone inform me of how the academies acquire the nominee list? Do I personally have to send a copy of the letter or does the office of the MOC inform the academy of my nomination? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

DS congressional nomination showed up on his USNA portal today but it is dated 11/26. He also received a nomination for USMA from same MOC and it showed up in his USMA portal on 11/26. DS received letter from MOC after his USMA nom appeared but before his USNA nom was listed. For DS it was 10 days to 3 wks from time of interview. I would imagine MOC has sent info to academy and it just takes time to post.
