Am I late?

I will be turning in my NROTC application very shortly here, am I considered late?

Late but not too late. Get it in quickly.Absolute deadline is Jan. 31 but you want to get it in soon to make it eligible for the Jan. boards at the very least. If you really hurry I suppose it might be possible to be board ready for Dec (depending on when they meet) if you can get the interview etc. done in time.

Navy Option, Marine Option, or Nursing?

Thanks for the reply. I'm going for the Navy option. Could you explain why I'm considered "late" when the deadline is not until January 31st? Sorry I finished up service academy applications and I'm not exactly familiar with the ROTC process.

You are correct about the deadline, but the review boards for applications start meeting in August or September and have already been awarding scholarships. So you're late only in the sense that you have missed some opportunities to be awarded a scholarship and, as a result, fewer scholarships are left to hand out. That being said, the majority of scholarships are yet to be awarded.

Good luck and thanks for being willing to serve.
