I am sure there are threads about this and it is very early to think about, but can some of you give me the details about the Ring Dance? My DS would certainly roll his eyes if he got wind that I was posting something like this! I get soooo few details from him about anything going on out there!! Ha! Thanks to all!! :thumb:

There are also numerous facebook pages for the parents of MIDS. I believe it is mandatory that a midshipman purchase a ring.

It is mandatory. A waiver must be received to avoid doing so. And if Mids are separated after receiving their ring, they must turn them in. They are reimbursed. Sorta like having your sword broken if you're booted outta the cavalry for cowardice. No outward symbol of being part of the Brigade.

Branded!
Scorned as the one who ran.
What do you do when your branded
and you know your a man....
But then I date myself.

Thought old "Chuck" was better in the Rifeman.

Talk about dateing yourself

You guys are too funny! OK, back to the original topic!!! DS has his ring, no problem. I would enjoy hearing some tales of your own experiences with this rite of passage. I know that he and his buddies did talk about renting a house for the festivites. This sounds very sketchy!! Should I be concerned?

Many mids rent houses/boats/debauchery centers. Parts of the Ring Dance experience may not be parent friendly.

I am seeing two different dates for the Ring Dance. May 18 and May 25. Could you tell me which one is correct? Thanks.
