Do you interview with the congressmen themselves or people that work for them? Do you have more than one interview? Can you get nominated by different congressmen? Thanks!

You apply to your local Congressman (you only have 1) and your two Senators from your state. You should also apply for the Vice-Presidential nomination as well as others that you qualify for (child of active duty/retired military member, Junior ROTC, child of Medal of Honor winner, etc.)

Each Congressman/Senator does things unique to their constituency. Most have a committee which handles the selection for service academies. Do all of them interview? No. Some just nominate based on your application. The point is, you may have 3 interviews or you may have none. It depends on your congressional district and state. If you live in VA, there may be over 300 from your congressional district vying for a nom. If they have 300 applying, they may only grant interviews to the top 20 or so. If you live in WY, you may have only 30 applying from your entire state. Each might be given an interview.

Bottom line is that each state is a little different. Just put forward the best application you can and let your local politicians worry about it for you. Best wishes. :thumb:

How does nominations work

Can you receive more then one nomination from your Congressman?

Do you mean to different academies? Yes, it's possible. It's also possible to receive two nominations to the same academy (example: one from a senator and your representative).

97133M - yes, I did mean "to different academies". Thank you for the reply!
