Has anyone received any from December-January?

Please post date and state if you did.

A candidate must be deemed "qualified" in 3 areas in order to be able to "compete for an appointment." The areas are physical fitness, medical, and scholastic. And scholastic includes the app, essays, recommendations, grades, rank, BGO thumbs-up, test scores, ECs, leadership. Once a candidate has covered these 3 hurdles, she is deemed to be "3Qed." Erratically, letters or other communiques indicating this achievement are sent, but not always. Seems to be one of the areas USNA admissions remains somewhat "irregular." Some get it. Some don't. This seems to lead to much confusion.

The BGO's are informed when their candidates achieve this stage, however they are instructed NOT to inform candidates. In turn, candidates may be informed not to ask. This has been the source of some of the discussion on this forum and threads relating to this issue. Some candidates are asking. And some BGO's are telling.

Some candidates, perhaps many receive nominations without ever being deemed "3 Qed." Many candidates never achieve this status.
