Hi. I was wondering if getting a nomination from the senators is harder than getting one from the congressman. I unfortunately did not receive a nomination from my congressman but USMA is my dream school so I am a little worried about the competition at the state level. Thank you.

It can be more difficult because of the number of candidates you are up against. On the other hand, congressmen and senators frequently coordinate this stuff so there is perhaps a chance that something is in the works. In any case, until all nominations are in there is no reason to give up hope. Just keep working on plan B just in case.

Also this depends on what state you live in. In South Dakota, you have a better chance of getting it from a Senator, because there are two senators and one congressman. California, you've got two senators with 53 congressmen. Definitely depends on location.

And in NY, where I am, the Senator's slots are pretty competitive, but I am fairly sure that they choose those who don't have a congressional nom, before they choose those who do.

Best of Luck!!
