Today the candidate questionnaire for current high school juniors opened, and as I was filling it out i noticed there wasn't a section for "work experience". I did not put any work experience down in extra curricular activities. Was I supposed to put work experience in the extra curricular activities sections or not? Furthermore is my candidate information amendable from my candidate portal?

Thanks very much.

DS added to his application last year after initially submitting. I believe he went into his portal and clicked the "contact us" icon and asked that they add something.

I am planning to apply for West Point's Summer Seminar too, but when I go to click on the candidate questionnaire it says it may be a fake website trying to be the real one. I'm pretty sure it's not because I go to usma.edu then click on admissions, I just wanted to make sure before I put in my social security number. Could it be because I am using Safari? Thanks for the help in advance.

If you're using the link from the admissions page, you're fine. That happens often w/ gov't links... just make sure the initial page is correct.

Thanks for the info another13mom. I have one more question, I am pretty much done with the application I am just trying to figure out how many varsity letters I have received if I exit out of the application will it save everything I have completed? Also it has indoor track as an option for a sport, several other cross country runners and I run in the winter after school and compete in a meet at Ohio State, can I consider that as a sport or no?

is the Ohio winter meet indoors? If it is, then it's indoor track - the fact that your train outside doesn't define the sport... it's just where you train. As for saving info, I can't remember that much detail - sorry. I'd do my best to have everything ready to go in one sitting.

I actually have another question about adding on to my profile. When new information happens, for example when I finish this school year I will have another varsity letter, do I then have to send another email to West Point asking for a change, or eventually can I correct my information myself.

Thanks

There is a link that permits you to send updates; however, when you complete your application for an appointment (after SLS) all updates have to be verified - for example, when my applicant was awarded another varsity letter after the application was submitted, the athletic director sent an email to the Regional Commander listed on the portal so that WP would have verification that it was awarded. At this stage, you can add activities and awards by sending emails with scanned copies of the awards or whatever. When you eventually complete the Candidate Activities Record with your application for an appointment, everything is verified by your designated school official (guidance counselor).
