Tough day for the French

We make a lot of fun about the French, but these guys can fight when given a chance.

No offense, but we gave them plenty of chances in Afghanistan. You won't find many fans of the French in ISAF.

What do you think of the Germans? I heard they were well trained but really restricted with their ROE and ability to be proactive.

Even the Germans joke that ISAF stands for "I Saw Americans Fight."

Well-trained is a sliding scale. Well-trained compared to us? No. Well-trained for a partly involuntary force? Yes. They have wonderful equipment. It's a shame most of it sits on MeS or the smaller FOBs and gathers sunshine. Their MPs do some work, but overall the force is largely hampered.

I defer to guys that were there and know the real story. They use to be good.

The NY Jets used to be a good football team. You cannot use the past as representative of the present.

The Jets have'nt been good since Joe Namath and John Schmitt played together. :shake:

We in the NYC Area are a captive audience of the Jets. On a normal sunday Fox will broadcast the Giants at 1PM. The Jets would be broadcast at 4 on CBS. The 4PM games on Fox are blacked out and we are a captive audience for the Jets on CBS. I think the Jet fans are about 16% of area residents. Giants are about 70%. It is utter torture to watch the Jets every week. They would make a wonderful team for London. I am going to get the extra NFL cable package next year. I just cant take it anymore.

BTW go Pats this year. No Giants in your way.

Never the Patriots.:shake: And never the Red Sox or Bruins. Tough to be born in the Bronx and live half way between. It is always fun here when discussing sports. Son is a Devils fan, go figure. Still makes me go to some of their games once in a while. Miss the Whalers.
