I'm curious. With the new procedure of waiting until 26Feb and no rolling admissions this year, are there stacks of BFEs and TWEs sitting in the admissions office? Does one of them have my name on it? Or are they just ranking every candidate according to their WCS in their respective categories (AD, NG, soldiers, diversity categories, etc.) and about a week before, by some magical process known only to God and the admissions board, appointments are offered? Just curious...as the wait drags on...

Probably-Clearly they can not decide on 1200 people for admissions one day before notification day. They will have boards every Tuesday between now and Feb 26 and many files will be approved for admissions. Your file could be now or soon be sitting in a stack of approved or not approved stacks.
I know that waiting is difficult but there is no alternative. Your RC might tell you if your file is strong but he will not tell you if you are going to be offered admission.

BigNick, thanks for the reply. I know that I'm pretty competitive, and I'm pretty confident that something good is in the works- either an offer to a prep or direct to WP. My concern is that my unit deploys to Afghanistan soon and life would be exponentially easier the earlier I get an official decision- either way. I understand the waiting...I was just curious if the decision had already a been made...I suspect that it has. Thanks

I received an offer of admission to the Preparatory School at West Point in today's mail! I'm so glad that I'm going to the prep so I can get back up to speed academically. What a great day...now I have to get all of the logistics worked out and the proper paperwork into the right hands since my unit is deploying soon. West Point here I come!

greatdane, that's great news. Everything happens for a reason. I'd surely follow someone like you if we served together.

Is the FFR the best individual to contact, in regards to our rank amongst our congressional district? Can he/she disclose this information? What about RC or MOC's office?

Your RC knows as he or she recommends to the admissions board. At best, the RC might tell you if you are competitive or not.

Your FFR can take an educate guess based on the field force website data - it has the basic information, SAT, extracircular activities, sports, CFA, and etc. Plus being able to see application completion status, nomination status. An applicant might have 2100 SAT, but if the applicatio is not complete or medically disqualified, not going to get an appointment.

I was notified last week by my RC that I needed to take the CFA (which I took earlier in 2012) again before he sent my application to the Admissions Board because my former coach was not registered as a PE teacher. I am completing it tomorrow (friday) does this hurt my chances in any way? In regards to the redo or due to the lateness of my app?

You make your own judgement, why would your RC sent your application to the Admissions Board in January?

Don't jump to any conclusion, but genearlly appearing before the admissions board this time of the year is either for appointment consideration or disqualification, as I understand it.

You are still ahead of the power curve as the application deadline is until 28 February. So if CFA is the only missing thing, your RC already made assessment on your academic qualification.
