I am a female candidate and took the CFA today. I am a bit concerned about the results and if they will have a major impact on qualifying?

Bball throw - 37 ft. published mean 41 ft.
Shuttle Run - 10 sec. published mean - same
Pullups - 2 published mean 3
Sit ups - 95 Maxed this one
Pushups - 46 Max is 50
1 mile run - 8:42 published mean is 8:06 (my big concern)

DoDMERB - Medically Qualified

Academics

ACT -English -34, Reading 30, Math 28, Science 27, Writing 31
UW GPA - 3.7/4.0
I attend a public IB school, which has been ranked in the top 37 public high schools in the US. My school does not rank, but USMA asked for a percentile ranking which the GC placed me in the top 30 percentile. My graduating class size is 41 students.

Math - Algebra I thru 2nd year of calculus (Had to take 2 math courses at the same time to make this happen)
Science -bio, chem, physics, env. science

History - 4 yrs AP/HL
Economics - HL 2 yrs
Theory of Knoweldge - 2 yrs

I am running out of time on the CFA but am considering a retake. Thoughts?

You can do the CFA as many times as you would like, so if you can do it soon and get a better score, why not take it again? There could be another girl with a little bit of a faster time or more pushups..
Good luck

I would say that you're CFA is fine, but if you feel like you can do better then go for it lol. You have to take it again on the 2nd day of Beast so they can see where you stand.

Retested on Friday, overall much better results:

Bball - 36 ft (lost 1 ft) ave is 41
Pullups - 1 ( no change) ave. is 3
Shuttle run - 9.8 ( picked up .2) Ave. is 10
Situps - 95 max
Pushups 50 max picked up 4
Run -7:58 - picked up 44 secs.

I am pretty happy with the results with the exception of the pullups. I hope 1 is not a disqualifier.

Heck! The Marines, who are pretty darn demanding, don't even require females to do a pullup. Instead they do a flexed arm hang for 75 second (I think it's 75). If they do 1, just 1, pullup they're done... having passed that part of their fitness test. I can't imagine the army considering only 1 pullup disqualifying... but then it is a different service so YMMV.

Thank you for the response. I was told that 1 pull up is better than maxing on the flex arm hang so hopefully that info is correct. I have a classmate who failed a portion of the test and received letter, so I guess if I do not receive a " your not qualified" letter all is good!!

That is true. Pull ups for females count more than the flex arm hang

Im a female 2017 applicant also so maybe I can help to reassure you.
My scores were
Bball: 45ft
Arm Hang:23.3 sec
Shuttle: 9.7sec
situps:95
pushups: 51 (I know... the one extra was accidental lol)
run: 8:04

1 pullup is much better than my arm hang and yet I still got an LOE, so it is definitely not disqualifying. Best of Luck :thumb:

Thanks for the encouragement. Do you mind sharing when you completed your app and when the LOE was received? Looks like you are in located NY, I am in TX.

I finished my application on Dec16. My congressman informed WP of my nomination on Jan8 and received an LOE around the 16th of Jan. Hope this helps!

Thank you. My application was complete yesterday when my CFA results were uploaded. I have a MOC nomination as well, hopefully I will hear something in the next 30-45 days.
