Pirates seize supertanker

Forget the Navy bring in the Coast Guard, fighting pirates since 1790:shake:

I remember sailing through some "shady" parts during my time on oil tankers and thanking my lucky stars when we were away. A fully laden oil tanker is definately a fairly easy target for pirates. When fully loaded the distance between the water and deck (freeboard) is not nearly as high as that of a container ship or other types of ships. This makes it easier for the pirates to get on deck.

But what would they do with a ship that size? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you cant just stick that size ship into some no-name port off the Somali coast?......or can you???

Is it worth a couple million in quick ransom just so the ship is not mismanaged bringing her into port?
