I have been reviewing the AIM information on USCGA's webpage. It says that the application will open in early February. Does anyone have the exact date? Also, will there be rolling applications? <---(sorry that may not be the current term). Or will they announce all of the acceptances at once? Thanks and good luck!

A couple days ago the website said it would open Feb. 4th. Apparently they are not quite ready to receive applications yet.

Yeah I just checked! haha! I have already sent in my Air Force Academy Summer Seminar application in, and now I'm just waiting on the Coast Guard app.:thumb:

what happen to Feb 4th date

were all confused, we have an app with AFA SS and USNA SS, and were looking forward to USCGA AIM program. USNA is already sending letters and AFA said everyone will hear in Feb, so just wondering what is happening.

I believe we will hear back from AFA on February 15. Has the USNA SS application been closed yet?

The AIM application will be available soon...we were scheduled to open today, but the final round of review/testing this weekend revealed some issues that we needed to correct prior to opening it up. Our review/selection process for AIM differs significantly from the other service academies' summer programs and there is no advantage to applying early - deadline is April 1st. We review all applications during the month of April and release notifications in May. Three one-week sessions will be offered in July, so our program does not conflict with summer programs at the other service academies during the month of June. Students who apply for AIM, but are not selected to attend, will be given priority to attend one of our overnight Cadet For A Day visitation programs in the fall.

I thought the application was supposed to open up on the 1st of February... I still can't decide though if I want to go to the AIM program of USAFA SS if I'm accepted to both

See Objee's post above.

Seriously though, both programs are very good. However, I have heard from many people who attended both programs say that AIM gave prospective cadets a much more realistic sense of swab summer. I heard this as an Aimster, as a fourth class and third class, and as an AIM cadre from my Aimsters this past summer.

Go to AIM. Of all the academy's summer programs, AIM is the only one that actually gives you a taste of your first summer.

The AIM application is now available...the deadline has been extended to April 15th due to the delayed opening.
