I'm new to this site and I wasn't quite sure where to post this message, but I have a few problems and looking for in sight on how to go about it. First, I want to join the Air Force Reserves and will do anything to try to get in to gain opportunies, educationally and mentally, and above all life structure (leadership characteristics).
I'm 26 years old, I have a lot of college credits about (130 maybe more) I'm one class from my bachelors degree and I have an associates degree (GPA: 3.1) after my bachelors I would like to get my masters through the Air Force.
When I was in college I was prescribed ritalin and adderall to concentrate better in school, however I've stop the script for over a year now but wasn't cleared by my doctor to do so because I didn't have a need for them anymore, so I never refilled my script, since they were used for school. Through some research, I've read that applicants would be automatically disqualified if taken these medications, but can be allowed to join if they werent taken for a year. Would I have to be cleared by my doctor or would I have to get him to sign off that I'm okay to be off the medication for a whole year? Or does it count until my last script was filled?
Pertaining to the waiver, does it help that I know a Lieutenant-Colonel and a few Master Sargent's in the Air Force? I'm not sure if they can help me with this, but I can only hope..
I also have a outline half sleeve tattoo on my right arm, so I presume I will have to get another wavier for that as well? If someone could please help me and point me to the right direction it would be great and highly appreciated. Thank you so much for reading and your time.
If you have questions for me please ask me. I still havent taked to a recruiter yet but will be contacting one this week. I apologize if this is the wrong section.
