Last night our Congressman called DS to tell him he has good news...he told DS that USNA has notified him that my DS has been offered an Appointment to Class of 2017! Woohoo! It was a great night! Now waiting for the BFE! Best of luck to those still waiting to hear! :shake::yllol::biggrin::thumb:

Congratulations! Great news and a big relief for your family!

Thank you both! We are from New York...and yes, waiting is very difficult so I feel for every candidate and family. Still feel like the wait isn't completely over until the BFE arrives!

Good luck to all!

FUTURENAVYMOM,

Congratulations! To your DS and the entire family. Five years ago my DS had a classmate in high school and called our family right after he received his call, as well. Originally, Congressman Holden, at the time called and said he had gotten an appointment to the Air Force Academy. My DS classmate, to the Congressman, that he did not want go to the Air Force Academy, but to the Naval Academy. Congressman Holden told him to stand by the phone, that he would call him back. Congressman Holden called him back in 5 minutes and told him that he was going to the Naval Academy. Today, the young man is an Ensign in the Navy, based in San Diego. I told the young man, who is a second son to us. That took, a lot of guts.

Tell your DS thanks for serving the greatest county in the world, the United States of America.

God Bless and God Speed,

RGK

Thanks again everyone! Good luck to those of you still waiting. I feel like the wait has been the hardest part of the process so far, but worth it!

Congratulations to your DS! :thumb: My DD is in the same position -- got the call from our MOC more than a week ago, then spoke with Admissions the next day (right before their office move), and was told that her folder was "going out today" (hard to interpret the "going out" part, I suppose).

No BFE in our mailbox yet ... and DD wants it in-hand before she shares the news with everyone. So, the wait isn't completely over, but this waiting is much more exciting

OysterMom, Congratulations to your DD! I suggested my son wait to share the news until the BFE arrived as well. However, he could not contain himself. Nor could my husband for that matter. There were phone calls, texts, tweets, etc! It was a good night!

I can sympathize. We have told a few close folks and family members, but she is waiting for the BFE to tell school friends, etc., and there are others in her graduating HS class that have heard nothing, and are on competing slates. She is hoping that one or more of them get good news before she goes public, so as not to dent their hopes.

Congratulations to your DD! I am sure she has earned it. Now good luck to her in her Navy career. :thumb:

Don't forget to update the Appointment Thread as we all want to know where you are from!

I noticed you added to the Appointment thread! :thumb:
How long did it take from time you learned of appointment to get the BFE in mail?
